About Us: Practitioners, rather than Consultants

First and foremost, we like to think of ourselves as practitioners, not consultants.  Our solutions aren’t based on theory – they have been derived from years spent building top quality sales and marketing teams that perform at the top of their game, together with a healthy enthusiasm for embracing new ideas that work.  We know what it is like to carry a number and to take responsibility for revenue, quarter after quarter.  We believe in getting our sleeves rolled up and bridging the gap between vision and execution, and we'd much rather join you on the pitch and help you score a winning goal than stand on the touchline and shout our advice, however compelling.

Prior to founding Inflexion-Point each of us enjoyed successful multi-decade careers in complex B2B sales environments, and spent most of them carrying P&L responsibility. We've been fortunate enough to work for some of the world's most successful companies during critical periods of growth and change, and learned more than a few lessons along the way. We combine practical strategic and operational experience with excellent contacts in the investment community.

We've benefited greatly from the opportunity to work alongside people who are now acknowledged as experts in mastering the challenge of accelerating the growth of high-potential companies, including Geoffrey Moore, best-selling author of "Crossing the Chasm", and Richard Currier, described as "The go-to-guy in Silicon Valley for solving top-line revenue problems". 

Much of what we put into practice today has come from seeing these thought leaders in action - and from the practical lessons learned from co-creating value with the companies we have worked with and for.

Bob is Chairman of Inflexion-Point and has worked in senior executive roles for a wide range of B2B vendors, many of them leaders in their respective markets, including HP, SCO, XcelleNet, Sybase, Intellisync (now part of Nokia), Aspective (part of Vodafone), Cognito and Dexterra to build UK, EMEA and global sales and marketing organisations. Bob is also a tutor at Pentacle, The Virtual Business School.

Mike is a Co-Founder of Inflexion-Point and has worked with a wide range of successful B2B vendors latterly at Chairman or non-executive director level, helping them secure the funding they need for growth and ensuring that the investment is well directed.

We're very careful to use our methodology as a guide, not a straight jacket, and we'll tailor everything we do to align with your particular priorities for action.  We also recognise that when our clients are going through a transformative change in their go-to-market model they may want to draw upon experienced management  resources to help them manage the process of change.  So it's not uncommon for us to act in an interim executive role during this period, while we help our clients establish a smooth-running sales and marketing machine that is pointed in the right direction and capable of taking them where they want to go.
